County staff to seek $294,725 in quarterly budget amendments for unplanned items

County Manager Thomas Weaver told commissioners at the March 25 work session that staff will present quarterly budget amendments totaling $294,725 to come from county reserves. Weaver said the total of the proposed amendments is $294,725 and recommended the board consider quarterly amendments going forward. The county intends to present the specific departmental adjustments at the April 1 regular meeting for a formal vote. Commissioners asked staff to confirm prisoner counts with the sheriff and to provide detailed backup for legal-service expenses that have driven the increased legal budget request.
No formal vote on amendments was taken at the work session; staff will return with formal amendment ordinances or resolution language and supporting documentation at a subsequent meeting.
