At its April meeting the Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County Commission approved a package of FY2024 budget amendments totaling $294,725 to cover prior and anticipated expenses.
Resolutions adopted included transfers from reserve funds to: EMS salaries ($275,000), legal expense ($150,000), boarding of prisoners for the sheriff’s office ($200,000), coroner salary ($30,000) and a $6,000 property‑tax reimbursement line. Clerk materials and the exhibit bundled with the minutes reconcile the combined package as a $294,725 amendment (some line items were offset by grants or prior appropriations in department ledgers).
Motions were moved and seconded on the record (final votes were recorded as unanimous) and the clerk’s packet lists detailed line‑item amounts. The amendments are intended to address mid‑year shortfalls; the county manager and finance staff will report on the budgetary status at upcoming meetings and recommend any further adjustments.
