The Ogdensburg Borough Council unanimously appointed Maria Mascuch to the full-time position of Tax Collector, Water Collector, Deputy Municipal Clerk and Deputy Municipal Registrar of Vital Statistics, effective Nov. 1, 2025, at an annual salary of $65,000. Mascuch thanked the mayor and council during public comment and said she would "do her best" in the role.
Council also approved Resolution 92-2025 appointing Candace Sutton as Secretary of the Board of Health and Clerk 1, increasing her hours to 28 per week at $20 per hour beginning Nov. 1, 2025. Councilwoman Ruitenberg voiced concern about the budgetary impact of increasing hours and salary; CFO Mike Marceau responded that the change was accounted for in the original proposal and certified funds were available.
