Council approves Edison Road opening permit with two-year warranty bond

Borough Engineer Mike Vreeland, participating by phone, said the section of Edison Road was paved in August 2022 and described the applicant’s plan to reroute a pipe, install a manhole and connect to the existing storm drainage.
Council members pressed for details about where the pipe collected water and how the pavement would be restored. Vreeland and Borough Clerk Robin Hough recommended the borough receive a certificate of insurance and a performance/maintenance bond to guarantee proper restoration. After discussion, Councilman DeMeo moved to approve the permit contingent on the bond and insurance; the motion, recorded as requiring a two-year warranty bond and the borough to be named additionally insured, passed unanimously.
