Mayor Jane Cooper presented a formal proclamation thanking Ashley Johnson for her service to the Belvedere community and for her work on the Planning Commission.
In a read proclamation the mayor noted Johnson was born in San Francisco, returned to Belvedere in 2017, served on the Belvedere Community Foundation since 2021, served as a block captain since 2020, joined the planning commission in March 2021 and was elected chair in September 2024, attending more than 60 meetings. “Now, therefore, I, Jane Cooper, mayor of the city of Belvedere, on behalf of the citizens of Belvedere, sincerely thank Ashley Johnson for her dedication, commitment, and community spirit, and join in recognizing Ashley for her contribution to the Belvedere community,” the proclamation read (signed 05/20/2025).
Multiple residents spoke during the open forum to thank Johnson; one speaker identified himself as her father and said he was proud of her public service.
