Board recognizes Grove Area Percussion state champions

The board recognized Grove Area Percussion — a district indoor drumline that pulls students from Park Center, Osseo and Maple Grove — for winning the Class A state championship and sharing national competition results.
At its Nov. 19 meeting, the board recognized Grove Area Percussion, the district’s competitive indoor drumline, for achievements in the local and national circuits.
Director Mike Brown introduced the ensemble, described the group's 10-year history of competition, and read the names of students present who participated in the recent state-championship performance in Class A. Brown noted the ensemble also competed nationally (WGI) and made finals this year, a significant accomplishment. Board members and Superintendent Kim Heil joined students at the front of the dais to offer congratulations and take a group photograph.
