Pottawatomie County Commission meeting: routine approvals, veterans-memorial reminder and Council on Aging work session

The Board of Pottawatomie County Commissioners convened at 8:30 a.m. on July 27 in the Sunflower Room. Commissioners Deloyce McKee (Vice Chair), Merl Page, Bill Drew, Gary D. Yenzer and Chair Terry Force were present; County Administrator Chad Kinsley and County Clerk Dawn Henry attended. The board approved the meeting agenda and the July 20 minutes by unanimous 5-0 votes.
During department updates, Mark Jack, the Noxious Weed Director, provided a report on chemical sales and projects. County Administrator Chad Kinsley reminded the board of the Veterans Memorial ceremony on Aug. 31 and introduced two draft advisory-election resolutions; the board later adopted Resolution 2026-31 (second version). The meeting adjourned at 9:41 a.m. and the commission then moved into a work session to discuss a Council on Aging needs assessment.
