Chairman Charles Coffey called the Board of Commissioners of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County to order at 9:00 a.m. on Jan. 7, 2025, and the board moved to organize its leadership for the year.
A motion to appoint Commissioner Timothy Biddle as chairman failed for lack of a second. Commissioner Gerald Douglas then moved to appoint Charles Coffey as chairman; Commissioner Jason Frost seconded. Commissioner Damon Hoyte recorded a dissenting vote and the motion carried. Commissioner Frost subsequently moved to appoint Commissioner Timothy Biddle as vice chair; Commissioner Douglas seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The actions were recorded in the meeting minutes. The board also approved routine minutes from its Dec. 3 and Dec. 23, 2024 meetings during the same session. No public comment was recorded on the organizational items.
