Resident thanks crews after Patterson Road washout fixes, criticizes response time

"Over the past month I have had issues with washouts and exposed water lines," said resident Josh Abercrombie, who asked the board to record his name and address. He thanked county public‑works employees for repairing the ditch and washout the day before the meeting but said it should not have taken that long.
County Manager Thomas Weaver told the board the county made two trips to Patterson Road and performed what he described as "patchwork" while other road repairs consumed available equipment and crews. David Smith, who replied during the exchange, said the condition had been ongoing for a couple of weeks and was resolved as of the meeting.
The exchange occurred during the meeting’s open forum. No formal motion or directive was recorded in the minutes directing additional capital work for Patterson Road; residents who raised urgent maintenance needs are advised to continue using the county’s work‑order process so the county manager can prioritize equipment and crews.
