Superintendent Ken Tharman gave the 9–12 principal report at the Dec. 9 meeting. He said the Perkins Grant consortium with Smoky Hill Education Service Center is being discontinued because recent rule changes made participation administratively burdensome relative to the funds received. He also reviewed upcoming school events: K–12 Christmas program on Dec. 10, Nex‑tech Life Skills trip for juniors and seniors on Dec. 11, JV Scholars Bowl on Dec. 16, and a pep rally on Dec. 20.
Tharman additionally updated the board on his family’s health situation. The K–8 principal reported a 97% turnout for parent/teacher conferences and noted curriculum planning for science textbooks due in the spring.
