Fort Edward authorizes decommissioning agreements for two CS Energy solar projects

The Fort Edward Town Board authorized Supervisor Fisher to sign Decommissioning Agreements for the Dolan and Somers solar projects proposed by CS Energy at its Oct. 15 meeting. Evan Callahan of CS Energy presented the agreements and said a bond will be required prior to construction. Callahan told the board construction of the Dolan project is expected in early 2025 and that discussion of a host-community package will begin soon.
Callahan explained the agreements set a 180-day timeframe for decommissioning and include a provision allowing the town to call the bond "if not operational for more than 12 months." Councilman Middleton moved to authorize the supervisor to sign both agreements; Councilman Suprenant seconded and the motion passed 'ALL AYES.' The board recorded the authorization as a formal action on the record.
