The Town Board of Fort Edward approved Local Law No. 1 (2024), which adds Article III to Chapter 82 and prohibits the importation, disposal and processing of solid waste within town boundaries. The public hearing notice and proposed local law were available at the Town Clerk’s office prior to the vote; the board closed the hearing at 7:00 p.m. and later approved the local law by motion.
Councilwoman Mullen raised a question during the hearing about sewer-district language in the County Planning Department comment and whether biosolids leaving the district were routed to Kingsbury; Supervisor Fisher said he had spoken with the Planning Department and that the matter had been clarified. The motion to approve the local law was adopted unanimously (Councilman Middleton absent).
