The county's undersheriff told commissioners the county needs a capital outlay of $31,136 to extend its Lexipol policy subscription to the detention side so the county complies with new state jail reform standards that started July 1. He said funds exist in a line item (approximately $1,716.90) to cover the purchase and staff will verify funds before finalizing the purchase.
"So, talking about the capital outlay for the Lexipol the Lexipol policy in the amount of $31,136," the undersheriff said. Commissioners asked about the recurring subscription cost; the meeting record contains discussion about an annual subscription figure cited in the meeting.
The undersheriff also described a Southwest Retech grant to place AEDs in administration, detective and patrol vehicles and said the county is requesting 40 AED units. He noted the grant includes equipment and training, with no local match or ongoing cost beyond training, and that the patrol lieutenant is tasked with keeping existing AEDs current. "This is a grant that will put AEDs in all of our vehicles ... We are requesting 40 AEDs," he said.
Commissioners did not oppose moving forward and asked staff to confirm recurring subscription costs and verify the grant terms and training schedule before procurement.
