Pitt County adopts NCACC legislative goals proposals for 2027‑28 biennium

Staff (Matt) summarized NCACC’s top priorities and the proposed local slate for the 2027‑28 biennium, including support for teacher and classified school personnel (pay increases), seeking repeal of a business personal property exclusion for certain solar equipment, increased funding for farmland preservation, and seeking funding for public health services and critical facilities. He emphasized the need for general revenue protection and opposing unfunded state mandates.
Commissioners discussed the recommended list, suggested outreach to legislators and possible modifications; a motion to adopt the proposed goals was made and carried. Staff will compile submissions for NCACC by the revised deadline and coordinate with local delegation and stakeholders.
