Don introduced the proposal and Melinda Hines, the county’s digital marketing specialist, described the design and how it ties to the county strategic plan. Hines said the brand "bridges heritage and our future" and described the meaning of colors and elements to reflect agriculture, public service and emerging opportunities.
Staff recommended a phased rollout with in‑house work and an estimated budgeted cost of $100,000 for this fiscal year; staff estimated savings between $100,000 and $200,000 because much of the work will be completed internally. The board approved the comprehensive rebrand and motioned to implement the strategy as presented.
Presenters noted the public‑safety lockup would be available to the sheriff's office but not mandatory. The board complimented staff on the work and asked for implementation details to be scheduled with departments.
