Library reports record summer engagement, raises $46,150 in WyoGives drive

Goshen County Library reported a record summer: 404 summer-reading registrations, 320,082 minutes read to date, and $46,150 raised during WyoGives (including a $20,000 community match). The library also announced a county-docuseries premiere and reported HVAC and staffing issues.
Library Director Cristine Braddy presented a July library report highlighting strong community engagement and fundraising. June patron visits were 7,765 (up 22% year-over-year); total FY26 visits are 52,509 (up 11%). The library reported 404 total summer-reading registrations and 320,082 minutes read to date toward a 300,000-minute goal. Braddy reported WyoGives fundraising totals of $46,150 with a $20,000 community match from Leroy and Sue Milner; 133 donors contributed, including 45 new donors.
The library announced the Goshen County Stories docuseries, premiering July 22 as part of America 250 programming, and said it is partnering with local schools and community venues for screenings. Braddy also noted intermittent HVAC problems and staffing shortages this summer due to bereavement, illness and scheduled vacations; staff are working short-handed while addressing building issues with contractor LONG and coordinating repairs.
Commissioner Walsh moved to accept the library report; the motion was seconded and passed.
