"We will actually be out of school on Friday, September 4," Nevills said, and proposed moving the final school day to Friday, May 21 with corresponding teacher‑work‑day adjustments.
Board members moved and seconded the calendar revision and discussed contingency plans for inclement weather and banked minutes. Nevills said the district had approximately 2.96 days banked and described placeholders (Presidents' Day and parent‑teacher conference day) that would be used if more minutes were needed; if those were exhausted the district could add minutes to school days. The motion to approve the revised calendar passed by roll call.
