Fire Chief Beatsch reported to the council that the recent Stagette fundraiser "was the most successful to date" and thanked donors and volunteers. The chief said the department decided to hold the Stagette every other year going forward.
Beatsch also reported equipment problems: the old ambulance has a fault deemed too costly to repair and is out of service, and the new ambulance recently broke down and required repairs; the department temporarily borrowed a squad from Central Campbell. He noted the department’s exterior siren may be disabled because it runs on an older analogue system while dispatch has migrated to a newer system, potentially affecting automatic activation.
Council did not make a funding decision for a replacement ambulance at the meeting, and no motion to purchase equipment was recorded.
