Resident disputes parking tickets; councilor to investigate on-site

Todd Newman raised a parking enforcement complaint at the Sept. 9 meeting after receiving citations on both cars parked near his home. Mr. Newman acknowledged one prior incident about five years ago when a vehicle was obstructing the intersection, but said the most recent tickets were issued even though he believed one vehicle was parked within legal setbacks (approximately 20 feet from the intersection and 15 feet from a stop sign).
Parking enforcement told the Borough the vehicles did not meet required setbacks. Michelle (assistant manager) had advised Mr. Newman to bring the matter before Council; Mr. Klinedinst agreed to visit the property and research the situation to determine whether the enforcement action was correct or if tickets should be rescinded.
Council did not take immediate enforcement action at the meeting but requested an on-site inspection and follow-up.
