Classified staff press payroll fixes and bargaining progress at Seaside board meeting

At public comment, Sarah Wofford, state president of the Oregon School Employees Association, urged trustees to remember classified staff when planning any levy asking community members to vote for taxation. "Educators need to be paid correctly from everyone, and classified are no different than certified," she said, linking fair pay to bargaining priorities and community trust.
Union leadership (Brett) said bargaining proposals were received by the district and the union bargaining team would review them, with the goal of concluding negotiations soon. Classified staff asked the board to prioritize fixing payroll errors and to ensure bargaining resolves outstanding compensation and leave issues.
