Board accepts several resignations and approves a coach termination

The Wabash City Schools board accepted the resignation of special education teacher Caitlin Cornett, effective immediately, and approved the resignation of WMHS building technician Ian Penny, effective July 31, 2026. "All those in favor of approving the resignation, say aye," the Chair said as each motion passed by voice vote.
During discussion of Ian Penny's resignation, a board member said, "Ian's accepted another position, higher compensation for that," and noted interviews have started to fill the role. The board also moved to terminate Katie Cromer as girls volleyball head coach after an employee-requested change in status, and held an item to address the status of Chelsea Montgomery, the assistant coach.
