Commissioners authorize chair to submit seven legislative priorities to NCACC

County Manager Catherine told the board she had compiled suggested legislative priorities for the 2027–28 biennium and drafted a letter to the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) listing seven goals. She said the draft reflected feedback from an earlier workshop and follow‑up emails and that commissioners could suggest edits before the chair signs the letter for submission.
Commissioners thanked the manager for drafting the document, discussed minor edits and—by voice vote—authorized the chair to sign and submit the letter to NCACC. The manager said the association advocates on behalf of counties and that the board’s approval would allow staff to transmit the seven goals as Person County’s priorities for state‑level advocacy.
