The council approved an emergency ordinance extending a temporary moratorium on issuing permits for the establishment of mobile-home parks, RV parks and subdivisions while planning and zoning language is finalized.
Council members said the planning and zoning committee is completing cleanup of chapter 155 language governing mobile-home and RV parks and that a short-term moratorium is necessary until the revisions are finished. One council member summarized the practical purpose of the moratorium as a pause to allow cleanup of regulatory language and to give staff time to publicize the changes.
The motion carried by voice vote. Council encouraged interested residents to provide contact information to staff to receive notices about upcoming planning-and-zoning meetings related to chapter 155.
