Clerk recommends moving District 4-2 polling place after Vulcan site sale; 700+ voters notified

Sheridan County elections staff told commissioners that the former polling location at the Vulcan Collision & Coatings building has been sold and remodeled, eliminating usable public space. County staff recommended moving District Precinct 4-2 polling place to The Rock Church (near Calvary Baptist on Bighorn Avenue) and said they had notified party chairs and mailed more than 700 letters to affected voters.
"Formally Vulcan is right here... so Richard made a red dot, and we're moving it to the rock," the county clerk's office said while showing a map of the precinct. Staff said they looked at many alternatives, considered courthouse space but found it impractical, and will publish the change in the press.
The clerk's office also reviewed election-related dates: last day to change party affiliation May 13 at 5 PM and candidate filing May 14–29. Commissioners were told the polling-place proposal will be considered at the May 5 meeting.
