The Board approved multiple parks purchases at the July 30 meeting, citing equipment replacement and park improvements.
Commissioner Speedy moved to purchase a 2026 Groundmaster mower from Turf Products (Sourcewell contract 18696) for $173,091.95 to replace a frontline mower; staff noted a $9,600 trade-in and said the vehicle was on a replacement schedule. The board also approved purchase of a 2026 ABI Force z23 HLT laser-ready infield groomer for $59,826.61 (Sourcewell) that staff said will help maintain 32 baseball and softball fields and reduce ponding through a laser grader attachment and edging tools.
On playgrounds, the board approved a $145,000 purchase for a new playground structure and equipment for Los Amigos Park (Sourcewell contract 010521), funded through parks capital with additional work planned for an adjacent stage and stone repairs. Separately, the board approved a $153,483 playground for Jeff Moore Park funded through parks and streets capital and donor contributions; staff said the playground will complement an already-approved splash pad and both installations are expected in the fall pending finance committee coordination.
All motions passed by voice vote.
