District rolls out PowerSchool attendance dashboard and attendance interventions

Staff leading attendance efforts described positive shifts in regular attendance across several schools and introduced a new PowerSchool attendance dashboard that allows staff to view tiered attendance reports by student, period and grade. "This is our new PowerSchool attendance program... it provides tier data... lots of awesome reports that you can break down by student," the attendance speaker said, noting the tool can produce printable reports for families and class‑period breakdowns at the secondary level.
The board heard about the attendance team's root-cause work—lack of engagement, caregiver constraints, health and behavioral supports—and partnerships with ADAPT and Evergreen to expand mental-health and substance-use counseling and pilot a vape-cessation program at the high school. Staff said the district will use dashboard visuals in communications with families and to target interventions at building level.
