Board told of two supplemental budgets: staff stipend grant and school safety grant

The finance presenter said the district will bring two supplemental budgets to the board: a stipend program for eligible staff and a three-year safety grant. "We have 37 qualifying staff members that... would be getting around $445 a piece," the presenter said, adding the grant does not cover associated payroll costs which the district will absorb. The presenter estimated the extra payroll cost at roughly $6,000.
On safety funding, staff described a $118,005.74 grant intended for visitor-management systems, video intercoms, IP speakers and related school-safety technology. The presenter said the district has until Sept. 2027 to spend the funds and will likely include the full amount in the supplemental and next-year budget planning.
