Katie DeGroot asked how tax payments would work for the Dolan Solar project and whether landowners would be left paying taxes for project-related property. Applicant representative Mitch Quine explained that, in their experience, assessors assign a virtual tax I.D. to the solar project and the solar company receives and pays its own tax bill; landowners would continue to pay the taxes they normally pay, and any differences related to agricultural exemptions are handled in the assessor's process.
DeGroot also asked for construction signage and contact numbers at each entrance to the site; Quine agreed that signage would be provided at the main site entrance and said the team could add signage at multiple entrances. Board member Dolores Cogan suggested construction signage be environmentally friendly to help the project blend into the surroundings.
