Martin County Schools reports more than 250 students attended free summer camps

Kim Lilly and Dr. White reviewed the district's summer offerings, saying the district ran more than 10 camps that together drew more than 250 students. "So we had over 250 students attend the camps," Kim Lilly said during her summary of summer programs.
The presentation listed specific camps and activities including a read-to-achieve camp, STEAM/STEAM offerings, a summer strings program led by Justin Edwards, swim instruction with trained instructors from East Carolina University, and off-site enrichment trips (Winston-Salem State, UNC Charlotte, Lenoir Rhyne and UNCG) for participants in Gator University. Staff and administrators thanked teacher leaders and community partners for supporting the programs.
