Board of Health contracts SNH environmental for septic inspections and auditing

A supervisor told the board the county's Board of Health confirmed a contract with SNH environmental (identified as out of Manly/Worth County area) to perform auditing and inspections of septic systems for one year.
According to the report, the contractor will handle the septic-system auditing piece while the county's environmental health team takes responsibility for water sampling, well checks, radon testing and paperwork associated with septic files. The supervisor said the Board of Health had moved some responsibilities under the county public-health team following state-level changes, and that staff had been undertaking training related to the new duties.
Supervisors noted that Chickasaw County had previously provided sanitization services under a 28E agreement and that the county will continue to coordinate with contracted resources (including John Robbins) as the new contract is implemented.
