An IT staff member (speaker 7) told supervisors they had obtained firm numbers and asked for authority to use up to $100,000 of the subproject fund to bring systems to a five-year standard. The staff member said, "I'd like to ask is the ability to use up to a 100,000 of that sub project fund for this," and cautioned that the full amount might not be required. The chair opened the motion and the board voted to approve the request; the motion carried by roll call.
Supervisors noted the expenditure would come from the maintenance/ subproject budget and might be revisited in the spring depending on results. County staff said the funding would allow multi-year coverage of upgrades and that final vendor negotiations could reduce the total cost.
