Bailey said the report should include timelines, fiscal impacts and other pertinent considerations and requested the county attorney review legal parameters. On the second directive, Bailey asked the county executive to work with county staff and PRTC OmniRide to explore options for an enhanced paratransit program for seniors and people with disabilities; that analysis should include a financial feasibility assessment and scheduling options, with the county attorney again reviewing legal issues before staff report back.
Supervisor Franklin and others expressed support for both directives in the discussion that followed. Staff acknowledged the directives and indicated they will return to the board with outcomes and recommendations at a future meeting or memorandum.
