IT staff warn cybersecurity grant sunsets; city weighing ongoing MDR costs

The presentation highlighted device-replacement schedules, escalating hardware costs and insurance/compliance workload tied to cybersecurity expectations.
Staff also described two recent cost-avoidance moves: a hypervisor-migration negotiated through a partner that kept annual licensing near prior budgeted amounts, and an AV equipment upgrade funded from cable franchise grant funds rather than general tax dollars.
