City Administrator McCann opened the staff-report portion of the July 20 meeting with announcements about recent and upcoming community events. "City Administrator McCann reported Fun Days went well with over 100 floats and thanked everyone who participated and worked on the event," the minutes state. He also noted that portions of Belgrade Avenue (200 and 300 blocks) are open while MnDOT completes its portion of work and invited participation in the Highway 14 Corridor Study and a MnDOT open house on July 30.
McCann announced Music in the Park at Wheeler Park (July 23 and July 30, music begins at 5:30 p.m.), a free Parent and Child Fishing Event at Benson Park on July 27 at 10 a.m., and Night to Unite on August 4. After staff reports and mayoral comments, at 7:48 p.m. the council, on a motion by Council Member Steiner and second by Council Member Oachs, adjourned to a closed meeting under State Statute 13D.03 for the City Administrator’s performance evaluation. The motion and adjournment were recorded in the minutes.
