At its March 2 meeting, the City of Kingston council approved two new fees to take effect April 1, 2026. Council approved a $3.95 convenience fee on credit-card payments and a $50 garbage interruption fee for customers who do not pay for service.
The credit-card fee motion was made by Councilwoman Patresha Northgraves and seconded by Councilman Reggie Applin and recorded as carried unanimously. The garbage interruption fee motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Payton Silvers, seconded by Patresha Northgraves, and also carried unanimously. Both measures were recorded in the minutes as effective April 1, 2026.
