The Elko County Commission authorized staff to apply for a Conserved Nevada grant to construct a portion of the Lamoille Summit trail system. Staff requested approximately $150,000 in grant funds; the program requires a 10% local match, which staff and the commission stated could be met with fundraising and in-kind services.
Staff characterized the project as similar to prior Hilltop staging-area work, with county grant administration proposed and volunteer hours and other partners contributing toward match obligations. Commissioner (Speaker 4) moved to approve the application with a condition that the match be covered by fundraising or in-kind services; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
The commission recorded the motion and asked staff to proceed with the application and to return with match documentation as necessary.
