The Rankin School District #98 District Health Insurance Committee discussed adding Healthiest You, a Teladoc service, as a voluntary benefit for employees and recommended including it among items to forward to the Board of Education.
Committee members noted the district would need to contribute $1 per employee per month if the benefit is approved and discussed that the decision could become a subject for future collective-bargaining negotiations. On balance, the committee concluded the voluntary telehealth benefit could help staff save on medical costs and supported offering it as an optional program.
If the BOE approves the recommendation, staff will be informed of enrollment options and any bargaining impacts will be addressed in subsequent labor discussions.
