Dr. Matt Gordon, technology committee chair, told members the district’s network performs well and that he is alerted immediately when service slows or stops. "The quality of internet speed is positive for the District," he said, and added that outages are generally rare.
Gordon noted the District is under a multi-year agreement with Stratus that runs through June 30, 2026, and described Stratus as a local, quality provider. He also said he has explored a potential partnership through a State consortium that might offer free internet; he listed pros and cons and said he will research the option further but does not expect any provider change before the current contract expires in 2026.
