Tondra Gardner, UPK liaison at Connections for Children, used her three-minute public comment to describe free programs and services the nonprofit provides to families in the district, including family play-and-learn sessions, parent cafes, UPK/TK information and professional development for teachers.
"So my name is Tondra Gardner, and I am the UPK liaison at Connections for Children," Gardner said, and she emphasized the organization's long presence in the community and that the services and training catalog she brought to the board are free. She left packets for staff distribution and offered to follow up with staff members responsible for early learning.
Gardner told the board the organization has served the community for 50 years and invited staff to contact her for additional support or to schedule trainings for district teachers and families.
