The board voted to approve a package of policies—222.00 (English Language Learner Education), 266.00 (Secondary Grading Alternatives), 309.00 (Supporting Students with Characteristics of Dyslexia), 500.80 (Paraprofessionals) and 580.00 (Teacher Responsibility)—on a motion by Trustee Perez and seconded by Vice Chair Andersen. Other policies, including a proposed student cell phone policy and changes to emergency closure pay provisions for classified staff, were held for a later reading so wording could be refined.
