Board approves rezoning at MLK and Beach to single-family R2 after planning concerns

Jamie said the planning commission originally had concerns that R4 would permit duplexes or apartments; because the applicant stated an intent to build a single-family home, planning recommended R2 so the parcel would be limited to single-family development. Jamie told the board that the area is surrounded by residential uses, and that sewer and water are available at the site.
After the required readings and no public speakers for or against, the board voted to adopt the ordinance on third reading.
