Trustees report paving progress, plan to reapply after missing grant

Trustee Vick told the McCullom Lake Village Board that contractor Schroeder has completed most of the planned paving and is addressing a punch list of remaining mailbox and driveway repairs. "Schroeder has finished most of the paving," Vick reported, and said crews marked patches that will be completed before winter.
The board discussed pursuing additional grant funds after learning the recent application was unsuccessful. Trustee Vick said the recent funding appeared to favor state routes and neighborhoods had little success; the board plans to reapply for community-level funding in the next one to four years and will work with engineering firm HR Green. Trustee Bogacz and Trustee Walter noted the roads currently look good and thanked HR Green for its assistance.
No vote was taken; the board directed staff and the contractor to finish punch-list items and to pursue future grant applications to cover additional work.
