"I just wanna introduce myself to the council and to the community as Emily Nelson," she said, explaining that she is a Stebbins graduate (class of '99), a Navy veteran and an active volunteer. Nelson cited volunteer work with Concerned American Veterans, Americans for Prosperity and Right to Life and offered to help local events or outreach. Council thanked her and noted there are opportunities for volunteers in city activities, including the upcoming events connected to schools and National Night Out.
