Council hears engineer updates on Fairmount Park bid and extends W. Broadway retaining-lot contract; approves $80,493.58 payment to Shiloh Paving

Engineer Jeff Shue told Council that the Fairmount Park improvement grant is out to bid with an online bid opening on Feb. 28; the planned paved trail will be 350 feet long, 6 feet wide with a 2-foot stone shoulder. He also discussed a change order to extend the W. Broadway retaining-lot construction contract to Feb. 25, 2025, and advised staff expects the contractor to be finished by that date.
During the bills approval, Council approved payment to Shiloh Paving & Excavating, Inc. for $80,493.58 for work on the W. Broadway retaining wall and removal of a foundation wall. Shue also reported that C.S. Davidson, the borough's Sewage Enforcement Officer, has notified a property owner of an on-lot septic failure where public sewer is available, and Council is amenable to C.S. Davidson advising the owner on next steps.
Council recorded no further changes to the engineer’s recommendations at the meeting and directed routine follow up on bids and the change order schedule.
