Council adopts York County Hazard Mitigation Plan; two members note objections to plan language

Red Lion Borough Council voted to adopt Resolution 2025-7, endorsing York County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan intended to reduce risks from natural and human-made hazards.
The motion to adopt the plan was made by Mark Holloway and seconded by Cindy Barley and carried. Minutes record that Mr. Holloway and Mr. Klinedinst opposed some verbiage in the plan; Holloway said he would prefer language that does not “insinuate ‘we are the most vulnerable.’” The resolution implements a county-designed framework for coordinated hazard mitigation across municipalities.
Council also heard routine EMA, fire and ambulance reports as part of the public safety update; no modifications to the county plan were made at the meeting, and the motion recorded adoption as presented.
