Lincoln County OKs two special liquor permits for September receptions

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners voted to authorize the chair to sign two special designated liquor permits for private receptions this fall. Commissioners approved a permit for Highway 2 Depot to host a reception at the Farmhouse on Sept. 3, 2026, and a second permit for Diem LLC (also referenced as Axes and Aces) for a reception at the TAF Building on Sept. 5, 2026.
County staff confirmed both applicants hold catering credentials and that the sheriff raised no objections. "I did send it to the sheriff, so I had no comment that he had any issues with it," Becky said while discussing the Highway 2 Depot request. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the chair's authorization on both permits by roll call.
The approvals were procedural and included the board's standard caveat that any subsequent problematic claims could be pulled for further action. The items will be forwarded with a positive recommendation to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission as required.
