Board approves sidewalk and parking closures for Hunter's Precision reroofing, contingent on map corrections

Hunter's Precision Construction and Roofing sought temporary closures of sidewalks and parking spaces along East 6th and Franklin Streets and an alley near Trinity Church to complete reroofing work between Aug. 17 and Sept. 30 (excluding Mondays). City Engineer Tim Warner reviewed the submitted pedestrian-access map and asked the contractor to correct incorrect street names before the city would finalize approval. "They submitted a revised pedestrian access route, but their map shows 6th Street and Pine Street parallel to each other, and I think the map needs to be revised," Warner said.

Board members and staff agreed the closures were generally acceptable but that the engineer should confirm the revised map. The board approved the closure motion contingent on Tim Warner's review and approval of a corrected map; Warner said he would work with the contractor and notify the commission by email when satisfied.
