Pateros Council adopts $6.23 million 2025 operating budget; hearings closed with no public comment

The Pateros City Council on Nov. 18 adopted a 2025 operating budget of $6,229,542, approving Ordinance 816 after a public hearing that produced no public comment.
Councilmember Mike Harding moved to adopt Ordinance 816; Bruce Henne seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. Mayor Kelly Hook opened the public hearing on the 2025 operating budget at 6:55 p.m. and closed it at 6:58 p.m. with no speakers recorded. The council packet contained the staff and administrator reports reviewed during the hearing.
The budget ordinance was one of several related items considered that evening. Council also held and closed public hearings without comment on the 2025 fee schedule, the 2025 EMS tax and the 2025 property tax before moving to formal adoption of ordinances and resolutions. The council’s Finance Committee reviewed the preliminary budget in advance, Councilmember Harding reported.
Next steps: with the adoption of Ordinance 816 the budget is in place for 2025; the council also approved the separate property-tax and EMS-tax ordinances and the fee schedule (see related articles).
