Dolton swears in senior commander and other officers; village recognizes long service

The Village of Dolton administered oaths of office to senior command staff and probationary officers during the Aug. 3 meeting. Derek Guess was sworn in as Senior Commander and other command positions and probationary appointments followed, including probationary officer Breanna Wallace.
Trustees and the mayor praised long service by department members, noting the senior commander has more than two decades of service to the community. The board took a group photo and applauded the officers before resuming the regular agenda.
The swearing-in was ceremonial and no separate votes were required; trustees used the portion of the meeting to publicly acknowledge the department's work during recent large gatherings and storms.
