Jacob Barnes, a mentor with the City of Little Rock summer program, presented Coleman and Son with the 2026 Worksite of the Year award, citing the company's Trades for Life nonprofit initiative, hands-on automotive and gardening experience, and local community impact.
"They have learned valuable hands on skills such as changing tires, basic automotive masons, gardening," Barnes said, describing how the worksite exposed interns to practical skills and a community-improvement focus. The presentation noted the worksite's appearance on KATV as an example of public outreach highlighting career pathways.
A representative for Coleman and Son thanked Community Programs for the recognition and emphasized the importance of on-the-job training in preparing youth for full-time careers.
